Growing up on the streets of Melbourne, Wade became immersed in the iconic graffiti and skateboard culture from an early age.
However, his innate skill for drawing and fascination with modern painting led him into studying Visual Art at RMIT University
and in 1999 he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from Monash University where he was awarded the prize
'Most Prominent 3rd Year Painter'. This was then later complemented in 2001 by a Post Graduate Diploma in Animation
and Interactive Media from RMIT University, where his final animated-work “The 5:19” was invited to debut at the
Melbourne International Film Festival.
Following his formal art schooling (2002) Wade moved to Sydney where he first worked as an art restorationist and animator.
Then in 2004 Wade begun working professionally as a commercial Illustrator finding success creating video graphics for
some of the worlds biggest gaming corporations and in 2008 took on a lead role as an Art Director. Only oil painting
sporadically between 2004-2012, paintings completed during this period were mostly portrait commissions.
In 2013 Wade returned focus back on to Fine Art and his primary passion of Painting portraits and figurative artworks,
his most recent portraits including former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett and famous Australian children’s book
author Paul Jennings. Wade’s work has been exhibited in group shows within major Australian cities,
the National Gallery of Victoria and is included in University and private collections within Australia,
Czech Republic and the United States of America.
